**What is difference between SAT MATH 1 and MATH 2 **

Math 1 tests has questions on Euclidean geometry. In MATH 2, plane geometry concepts, three dimensional and coordinate geometry are tests. Trigonometry questions in MATH 1 applies to triangles, sine, cosine etc. and ratios in triangles. Math 2 has questions about ellipses, polar coordinates and coordinates in three dimensions, hyperboles. The graphs of trigonometric functions, inverse trigonometry and laws of cosines and sines.

There is some overlap in MATH 1 and MATH 2

The mains subjects in both of them are :

Number and operations

Algebra and functions

Geometry and measurement: coordinate, three-dimensional, and trigonometry

Data analysis, statistics, and probability

The difference:

Math 1 tests on Euclidean geometry. There is significant number of questions on it and measurement. In MATH 2, plan geometry concepts, three dimensional and coordinate geometry are tests. Trigonometry questions in MATH 1 applies to triangles, sine, cosine etc. and ratios in triangles.

Level 2 has questions about ellipses, polar coordinates and coordinates in three dimensions, hyperboles. The graphs of trigonometric functions, inverse trigonometry and laws of cosines and sines.

Depending on your strengths, you can take MATH 1 or MATH 2.

**We advise you should take MATH 2, it is accepted by all colleges****.**

The following table is taken from College Board’s website, it shows side by side comparison.
